This is a scale model of Don Fairbanks Imperial Knight Twister. The original Knight Twister was designed by Vernon W. Payne in 1928. Don wanted to compete in the sport biplane class at the Reno National Air Races. So he stretched the original design to meet minimum wing area rules. The Imperial Knight Twister made it's debut at the 1971 Cape May Races and competed thru out the 1970s.

This is our model of Don Fairbanks "Imperial Knight Twister" under construction. This view shows it's classic built-up construction. It is designed for a .15 engine but smaller engines may work well as it is light weight. Plans are $25.
